Between assignments and other personal projects in the late 1960s and 1970s Homer Sykes began to document an English way of life. This slide show brings together a number of these images for the first time.
Sykes, who is hoping to make a book or exhibition of this early work says street photography has not changed much over the years, “it is really about what is in your head and how you inter-react with what’s in front of you,” he says, and points out that the multicultural society of 21st Century Britain is providing him with a new and rich source of wonderful imagery.
